Not far from here there's a sign
And this is what you see not far from the sign. I'm sure they love their country.
They just don't see it the way we do.
God bless America
Land of the free
We can bash her
We can trash her
'Cuz her laws don't apply to me
I try to live and let live, but ATVs and dirt bikes really annoy me. Unfortunately, a lot of folks that use them just can't limit themselves to marked trails or existing roads.
ReplyDeleteNot to be overly negative, but I wouldnt be a bit surprised if PG&E employees themselves did that....my experience working with them was less than positive.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your good piece on the same, Mdmnm. Couldn't agree more.
ReplyDeleteIn this case, Seagull Steve, it's not the PG&E, though they cruise the roads nearby all day long in pickups and bigger machines.
I have observed that CalTrans employees rarely cut the engines on their trucks whether stopping for a break, a smoke, or just to kill time.
One good thing. ATV's or whatever you call then, have not made it to Australia. Trail bikes are here but certainly not to the extent that ATV's are ruining the country in the US. Idiots seem to always be one step ahead of the rest of us. Remember the "Dune Buggies" of the 60's?

It may not be popular, but I have a real problem with ATVs. They are just too loud to enjoy. If you can't get in by roads, go by foot. Too far by foot? try a horse - or don't go.

Live and let live?
ReplyDeleteWell what about the habitat destruction, the air and noise pollution? If you are unable to walk in the forest then consider an electric powered ATV and stay on the designated trails.
The mere sound of an ATV when your out in the wilderness spoils the reason you are out their. Nature's serenity, peacefullnessand music are lost.
