On camera trap abusers

Most camera trappers would agree: these apes were kinder and gentler than many yokels who encounter a camera trap in the forest.

Check it out here.

And many thanks to Johanna of CougarMagic for sending the link.

Quite a video of a perplexed young chimp.

BTW how far are you from any tidal/salt water? I'm curious how often various non-aquatic mammals will follow forest trails down to saline bays/marshes, to scavenge/hunt, as opposed to freshwater jaunts. Here around Humboldt Bay I've seen deer and bear tracks and skunk/coon at the marsh.

Dude, The salt marsh would be an excellent habitat to explore with camera trap. The problem is people wandering around. I hope to get up to Humbolt County this spring or summer to check it out. Its several; hours drive, but the coast is at least 2-3 hours from Chico.

I loved that the monkeys were carrying their termite sticks.

Thus Chimp is very curious like a young child discovering something new. Great find!
